Standard insulin vial protectors don't fit these brands because the vials are taller than most. Lantus, Admelog, and Apidra use a taller 10mL vial and need a different size. We also make 20mL and 30mL protectors — the 20mL fits Humulin R U-500, ProZinc 20mL, and Bravecto® Quantum. After dropping & breaking a new vial, I have all my insulin in these protective vials. The two sizes fit perfectly - both the Novolin & the longer Lantus vials. The material also makes them easier & more secure to handle, especially for us older folks who don't have complete feeling in our hands. And the different colors are also a useful feature. After accidentally taking too much Novolin, thinking it was Lantus, I had to stay up all night eating sugar & testing before I could safely sleep. I learned to use the bright Green protectors for fast-acting insulin & the clear for Long acting.

This is the second set of these I’ve bought, because I misplaced a couple from the first set, and for an extended vacation coming up I will need to take at least 6 vials with me. I use one all the time at home. When traveling, I place multiple vials protected by these cases into a Lock n Lock, then into a cooler. I feel this provides better protection and takes up less room than the boxes that the vials come in.
